Ronelle Thomas is a trained actress and creative producer in the tri-state area. She has been fortunate enough to work on both sides of the camera, with camera-facing being her preferred side.
“ I am a TV fanatic and a good majority of my life has been a series of memorized lines and scenes from some of my favorite TV shows. I am a big fan of short films, indie, and international shows and films as well. There is a rawness I found in certain Irish and English shows/films that I appreciate. ”
Performing has always been a part of her life. Her first acting gig was in the third grade where she played Betty Fitness, the hired trainer that was going to get Santa in shape for the upcoming Christmas season. The years that followed included studying dance under Betty Locker at the Locker School of Dance in Garfield NJ where she trained in pointe, ballet, and jazz for several years. Ronelle studied Theatre under the direction of Jan Ellis Scruggs at Cheyney University. However, her professional training began at the Susan Batson Studio in NYC in 2016 where she completed her method training and technique. She has participated in additional workshops, classes, and monthly programs at T.Schreiber Studio, HB Studio, and most recently the William Esper Studio, where she practiced the Meisner Technique under the tutelage of Jennifer Monaco.
I appreciate all of the different disciplines that each coach has instilled in me. They have all helped shape my artistry in some way and I find that I have a whole box of tools to choose from whenever I receive a new piece of material. The use of my imagination is by far my greatest asset.”
Ronelle’s most recent credits include Netflix’s Manifest, Blue Bloods, and Something From Tiffany’s, the first film from Reese Witherspoon’s new production company, Hello Sunshine.
Aside from several short films that have taken home festival placements and win. Ronelle’s role as Nina in the BET digital series, “Pillow Talk” was considered for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Digital Series and nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Best Composition/Music for a Drama.
“I mostly am looking forward to being able to dive fully into a character and take my time in her journey on screen. Some of my best work has been in class. I want the opportunity to flex my skills and challenge myself in an on-screen performance.”
